Hi everyone! Big thanks to all of you who follow regularly – especially my subscribers – and my apologies for the lack of updates. Now that my website is up-to-date, I am planning to post more regularly.
I’m hopeful that 2018 will be a big year for me as I have some big plans. My biggest goal this year is to finish drafting my first novel. I know I have been promising this for sometime, however having discovered during the update of my website that I now have 15 published short stories, I really feel it’s time to prioritise getting a novel on to the shelves. Part of that is another one of my primary goals: finding myself an agent. I know a lot of people have different opinions about agents (and publishing in general), however this is the path that I have chosen to try to get my work to where I want it to be.
There will still be some short fiction coming this year. In April, Rebellion Publishing will release Not So Stories, edited by David Moore and featuring my story, There is Such Thing as a Whizzy-Gang. I have also already been commissioned for a story in an upcoming Cthulu-based anthology, and may also seek some other opportunities to get a few more short stories published throughout the year.
I am also finalising plans to collaborate with an actress/filmmaker to produce a short horror film. This is something I’ve been interested in doing since I had several expressions of interest to bring my short story, The Little Red Man (in Ticonderoga Press’ Dead Red Heart), to the screen. So a few lessons in script-writing might also be needed soon!
So check back regularly for updates because it’s looking like it’s going to be a big year!
